Year 9 Options Booklet 2023-24

Year 9 students are encouraged to discuss their choices with their Formation Tutors and Head of Year.

The Core Curriculum

Our students currently study the below Curriculum in Year KS4 over our two-week

timetable cycle:

 This equates to 50 hours of curriculum time over the fortnight.

Humanities Option Block

Students must study at least one humanities subject including History or Geography. Students who want to study both History and Geography should choose History in the Humanities curriculum block and Geography as your first choice in Guided choice two

Guided Choice One

In Guided Choice One students will be able to choose from the following:

• Computer Science 
• Music 
• Design Technology 
• Business Studies
• Health and Social Care
• Creative Imedia 
• Sport

Guided Choice Two

• Geography
• Art
• Business Studies 
• Performing Arts 
• Creative Imedia 
• Sport

You will not be able to study the same subject in Guided Choice One and Two.
