Industrial Action - CG04 Bus Route

Dear Parents/Carers

Re: College Transport – CG04 Rugeley - Cardinal Griffin Catholic College

Further to our letter earlier in the week, in which we informed you that National Express West Midlands workers were potentially taking Industrial action this week, we are now writing to inform parents that there are ballots currently ongoing on whether National Express West Midlands transport workers support the taking of Industrial action commencing on Monday 20 March 2023.

Given that the Industrial action will not be confirmed until Saturday afternoon, we are advising that parents should monitor local media for news on whether the action is proceeding or not. We recognise that this is a very unsatisfactory situation for parents who need to make plans for transportation of their children. Our hope is obviously that the two sides can work out a mutually agreeable way forward without the need for Industrial action. Please see the attached communication the College has received from National Express on the following page. This provides links which can be used to check the situation.

Our previous communications in relation to attendance during the Industrial action still remain valid. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact your child’s Head of Year in the first instance.
