Cardinal Griffin

Mental Health Ambassadors Scheme

We are delighted to let you know that Cardinal Griffin Catholic College has been successful in becoming part of the Mental Health Ambassadors Pilot Project which is funded by NHS England and provided by Associate Development Solutions (ADS) and the Midlands Young Advisors. Cannock Mental Health Support Team (MHST) which works within our school are also part of this project.
Students in Year 9 (Lower Grammar) will be able to apply to become Mental Health Ambassadors (MHAs) in the school and will receive training in the autumn term of Year 10 around emotional wellbeing, mental health and peer support. They will also complete the nationally recognised ILM Level 2 Young Leaders Award. MHAs will be provided with information about careers in mental health.
The Midlands Young Advisors will be coming to talk about the MHA pilot project to the Year 9 students in Collective Worship on Wednesday 17th May 2023. If your child is interested in becoming a Mental Health Ambassador, they will be given an information pack with an application form. This pack also contains a parental consent form that will need to be completed by a parent/carer.
Applications (with signed parental consent form) need to be returned to the school by 5th June 2023; they can be handed to Mr Harris in the PE Office.
