Day Nine - Find out about the Extended Project Qualification
We want to ensure that our students are given experiences which will give them a competitive edge when pursuing higher education and careers, and we want to provide them with the freedom to broaden their cultural capital and explore their own interests. These are just a couple of the reasons why we offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to all of our Poetry (Year 12) students. This qualification is in addition to their other subject choices and sits alongside their timetabled lessons.
Not every college or sixth form offer this qualification. We believe that it sets our students apart from the rest and, in such a competitive market with regards university places and job vacancies, this could mean the difference between acceptance or rejection.
Last year our results were 100% A*- C and 60% A*/A! Uptake this year has been phenomenal too - currently, over half of Rhetoric students (Year 13) and around three-quarters of Poetry students (Year 12) are doing it this year. This demonstrates its popularity and visible benefit to a student's learning journey.
You can read more about the EPQ in the PDF below.

Day Ten - Learn about the value of BTECs
This year, we're launching even more BTEC choices, with the introduction of BTEC Creative Digital Media, BTEC Business and BTEC Criminology.
BTECs are an alternative to A Levels (Level 3 are equivalent to one A Level), offering a more vocational, work/training-based programme of study. The beauty of these courses is that they prepare you for your chosen career by assessing you in a more practical way, with continued assessments throughout the course.
BTECs can be studied on their own, or you can mix and match them with traditional A Levels. The choices are endless!
Further information about BTECs can be found on this website -
Our list of BTEC courses is extensive:
BTEC Applied Science
BTEC Business Studies
BTEC Child Development
BTEC Creative Media Studies
BTEC Health & Social Care Single
BTEC Health & Social Care Double
BTEC Music Performance
